Symantec — NortonLifeLock

Design across four Norton product lines, including a VPN app that hit 10M+ downloads.

Norton WiFi Privacy design
▲ 10M+ downloads · 42% conversion lift

At Symantec / NortonLifeLock I worked across four product lines at once — WiFi Privacy, Norton Family, the Family Android app, and Norton Security for Mac — each with its own PM, its own engineering team, and its own users.

01
Discover

Across all four lines, discovery meant sitting with PMs, a creative director, and development teams of up to 30 engineers to understand each product's specific friction: VPN onboarding drop-off, Family's conversion funnel, an outdated Android browsing flow, and an aging Mac UI.

02
Define

I scoped four distinct problems rather than one shared redesign: improve WiFi Privacy's UX/UI, redesign the Family landing page's conversion funnel, restructure the Android app around a new in-app browser, and update Mac Security's flow around a new "Clean" feature.

03
Design

I designed the relevant flows and UI for each — wireframes, traffic-funneling strategy, and e-commerce flow for Family; user flow and visual design for the Android app; icon and UI refresh for Mac; UX/UI improvements for WiFi Privacy — plus led design for the Norton Cloud Connect portal tying the products together.

04
Validate

Work ran on Agile/Scrum with Confluence, JIRA, and Slack, and I mapped user journeys for different scenarios and use cases to pressure-test flows before they went to engineering.

OUTCOME

Norton WiFi Privacy became the fastest-growing global VPN service in its first year, passing 10 million downloads; the Norton Family landing redesign drove a 42% increase in overall conversion.
